  “This is a honest guy, will tell you everything before work begins, I have been using him for 20yrs. Also I drive over 1hr to get to him, passing many other shops. We don't have many shops like his, too bad, hope he never sells out.”

  I am the proprietor of this business - I've been in business for over 40yrs. I realize that I am unable to control what is posted widely on the internet, however, I feel compelled to respond to this posting as not ALL facts are present in this one-sided posting. A couple of facts that were left out of the posting by the customer: 1) Back in 2008, the transmission was rebuilt as the part of an accident insurance claim (fender bender) - the owner claimed that the transmission was damaged in the accident  the transmission was completely fried / burnt 2) We rebuilt the transmission and offered our STANDARD warranty - 6mos or 6k miles (industry standard) 3) The customer returns after 19 mos and is complaining of - as she states - the same issues 4) We hooked up with our computer and diagnosed the problems codes as an initial step: #733 (3rd gear), #734 (4th gear) and #745 (pressure solenoid) 5) We explained that the #745 code is a pressure problem (which is controlled by the pressure control solenoid) and that the other two codes were gear related (internal) 6) I advised her that the pressure control solenoid (code #745) should be done first to see if it would take care of the other two codes - which is standard procedure - this is a $600 fix vs re-building the transmission at $2k+ 7) The customer left and decided to get a 2nd opinion - returning after a couple of days stating that the other garages told her that she has a problem with either differential or transfer case that was making noise - NO REFERENCE WAS MADE ABOUT THE OTHER ISSUES WITH THE CODES - the transfer case was completely SEPARATE from the issue with the transmission 8) I road tested the vehicle at that point and determined that IN ADDITION to the above issue codes that she also had issues transfer case problems (which is the 4x4 casing) - this is completely SEPARATE from the transmission issue (and the issues we diagnosed with our computer) 9) The customer opted to try and change the solenoid switch first to see if it would fix the other two codes - again standard procedure 10) After replacing the transmission pressure solenoid, we put all back together and hooked up the diagnostic computer again  we found that the codes #745 (pressure solenoid) and #734 (4th gear) were NO longer (pressure solenoid took care of the #734 (4th gear) code), however, we still had the #733 code (3rd gear) 11) I explained that #733 code is an INTERNAL problem  need to take transmission apart to further diagnose 12) The customer said she would drive the vehicle that way and see where it went 13) Three days later the customers acquaintance came back inquiring about why the light on the odometer wasnt working  this has absolutely NOTHING to do with my work 14) The customers acquaintance left after mentioning that he was less than happy about the process, etc, etc, etc  I explained again our position, however, unwilling to listen Again, very disheartened about this type of posting about me and my work  I have been in business for over 40yrs. Do you think that I would have lasted this long if I wasnt a fair businessman? Thanks in advance for giving me the chance to explain my position.”

  “He is a thief! I brought my 2002 Ford Explorer to him in December 2008. He supposedly rebuilt the transmission and was paid $2100.00. Now in Aug. 2010 just a little over a year a half later, I am having the same transmission problems again. I bring it back to him and replaces the cylenoid block for $600.00...and tells me that there is a problem with 3rd gear and it needs another transmission. Well if it needs another transmission, why did he even bother with the cylenoid block, and charged me $600 to get my truck back. After the fact, I spoke with someone else, who says to NEVER go there...that he is a thief!!!! So now I am out $2700.00 and back to square one with needing a transmission.”
