City Automatic Transmission
Do NOT go here!
“I strongly recommend you go anywhere else than City Automatic Transmission. My car was having transmission trouble, slipping and bucking, so I brought it here. It was recommended by a general repairs guy down the road at Tire Mart Plus, however now I am doubting his trustworthiness as a result of my awful experience here.\n\nThey had my car for three weeks before they even started working on it. When I called them to see what was taking so long, they said I needed to swap my transmission and they would swap it out for a used one for around 800-100 bucks (~$400 for transmission ~400 for labor). \n\nThe second time I called to see what was taking so long they said I needed a new transmission and it would cost about $1700 total. I reminded them about the used transmission and that's when they finally set about acquiring it from a junk yard.\n\nWhen I finally got my car back, it was filthy. They must have ruined my driver's side floor mat because it was missing and the other one was incredibly dirty also. All the change in my car was stolen, except they generously left the pennies for me. Finally, after all that, the problem was NOT fixed! I still have the same slipping/bucking I did before.\n\nThe transmission comes with a 90 day warranty but do you think I want to take it back there after that awful experience? At least there is nothing more for them to steal in there, only more mats to ruin. Do yourself a favor and don't go here.\n” -

Talcott Transmission & Auto Repair
Talcott Transmissions Saved me Thousands of Dollars
“I feel like I won the lottery. After being told I needed a new transmission (by the dealer), TT really could have taken me for a ride. Ken spend hours upon hours diagnosing a bad computer - the transmission was old, but fine. The dealer would have charged me for a new tranny and alterntor, and the problems would have remained! Thank you Ken and Talcott for your diligent and thorough diagnosis.” -

Hamden Transmission LLC
AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS I purchased a f250 pickup that the dealer had sent to Hamden Transmissions to have the Torque Converter replaced the day after i noticed the truck was making a weird noise when shifting brought it back& they sent me to Hamden Trans, took Bob for a ride& he heard& felt what i was talking about & swore up & down it was NOT the TC & that he had been doing this for years, he also refused to plug it unto a computer to see what the problem was. So i took it to ford and they plugged it in and found the Torque Converter was no good & was shuddering. showed Hamden Trans the paper work from Ford's test& they said they would replace the torque converter. The next Monday(11/1/10) I brought the truck to Hamden Trans BUT!!! before i did i got under the truck& marked a bunch of X's on the TC, Picked it up today BOB showed me my old TC knowing i had marked it i looked and there were NO X's at all and when i questioned him where they were BOB said oh they must of gotten wiped off.As soon as i got home i removed the dust cover to find he NEVER changed my Torque Converter and BOB tried to pass it off as if he did...\n\nthey a liars and no good cheats i wouldnt be surprised if they've charged other people for work that they never did in the past as well”
